Mrs. Nina Wang and her husband were very stingy persons - that's how newspapers described them. They were outrageously rich but didn't live a billionaire's lifestyle. To me, I would say they were very frugal and to a point that it was a bit over the top.
But little did we know that this hugely intelligent and successful business woman was to be shamed by a Feng Shui 'master' who claimed to be her long time lover and that he claimed Mrs. Wang had made a will to leave him all her earthly possessions.
To me, this is a modern day scam about just another shameless man taking advantage of a woman's love for her husband, her psychological weakness and lonliness all these years
Well, the story didn't really add up.
- Why would Mrs. Wang want to leave all her money and assets to a 'man' when she firmly believed that her husband is still alive? Reports said that all these years, she tried and never gave up in looking for her husband...that's why she became superstitious and resorted to employ 'Feng Shui soloutions
- In her previous will made in 2002, she made it public that she planned to donate all her money to a charity fund she had set up. What made her change her mind in 2006 that now all the money would be to pass on to that man (the man claimed that anyway)? Not even a bit left to the charity? Not even a bit left to her husband (if he was to be found alive somehow?) That doesn't sound right. Also this man claims to be her lover for more than 10 years...now if that's the case, why would Mrs. Wang made the will in 2002 to unreservedly donate her money? If she wanted to give that so called 'lover' money, she would have made some arrangements back then. And why all these years after 2002, there was no mentioning form her that she didn't want the charity fund anymore and that she would some other plans? This Mrs. Wang was no ordinary woman. She was the sole head of a business empire (she was richer than the Queen and one of the richest people on Forbes' World's Richest list) and bear in mind that her business is not publicly listed. This simply shows that she was from head to toe a total successful business mind. You won't expect her to muddle up her financial arrangements, will you?
- It was revealed in court that over the years, this Feng shui man has got more than 2 billion (HKD). Now let's do the housewife logic here -
b. This married man (wife and offspring intact) is already extremely rich in any standard you use. (Can't say someone with a huge private jet middle-class - I suppose)
c. This man claims that they were lovers (but I'm not sure if he has actually said the he loved /loves her). But if they were lovers, there would be some 'love' or 'compassion' between them - one would normally assume. Now this woman is dead. Their 'affair' was never known to anyone apparently, I mean it was kept very secret until this 'new will' thing appeared. Why would this hugely rich man deny his lover of this ultimate virtue to mankind?
d. Why would he deny Mrs. Wang the opportunity to make her name remembered fondly in Hong Kong?
g. If there was love, why would this man so desperately reveal their 'affair' in public (in court where all details have to be scrutinised) whereas Mrs. Wang had obvioulsy wanted to keep it secret. Why would he do such a thing that she would in way agree with?
h. If there was love andthat he had so much concern for her, the last thing one would do is to reveal all the details of their 'affair' that were supposed to be kept secret.
i. Why such an important decision of leaving all her money to a 'lover in secret' not known to any of Mrs. Wang's close family and friends beforehand? That's not normal. Even if she didn't really want to tell her family about this 'lover' and this secret 'affair', there would be at least some sort of arrangment and plan to mention that she might have other plans for her money and assets besides the charity fund.
j. Last but not least, if this Feng Shui man claims that the money was a reward to help her find her husband...then he failed the job. He never found him. Why would Mrs. Wang reward him with all her money and assets for a failed task? A fee maybe but not her whole fortune.
Well... I believe anyone will spell 'fish' in the air in this mysterious case of Mrs. Wang's supposedly new will. As the saying goes 'Blind Fredy can see it!'
It all comes down to 'greed'. Why are there wars? Why are there conflicts? Why are there crimes? Many of them come from ultra greed of some ruthless human like beings. Well, they don't care and they can't be analysed and measured in normal human standard.
My question still is why would one deny his/her loved ones' good deeds? Aren't you proud of his/her noble decision? If he really loves/loved her, he will never do it, won't he?! That sums him up.
If we want to extend the definition of terrorism, what this man is doing is terrorism - making sure that Mrs. Wang' charity work will fail and thus hundreds of thousands of civilians will never get the chance to make a life of their own. The only difference is that the weapons used are different. At least for other forms of terrorism that we often see, we know what organisations they are and people know how to guard themselves. But this one is an ultimate terrorist - He is slowing killing people in a master plan of taking advantage of a wealthy but desperate old woman. That is beyond shame!
